Reach for the stars!

February 2023

It's February and we have been on the look out for signs of spring. We can hear some birds tweeting and we have made birdfeeders during our Outdoor Adventurers sessions. We have also been on the hunt for minibeasts. We are intrigued to see just how our environment will change over the coming weeks.

We continued our traditional tales themed learning, and we read the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The small world area was set up to enable us to retell the story in our own words. We had a great time pretending to be the menacing troll!

Last half-term we spent some time with adults learning how to sew. This half-term sewing resources were placed in our art and design area. We relished the opportunity to apply what we had learnt independently to make our very own mini story telling puppets.

Our outdoor area has been busy and bustling with many wonderful learning opportunities. We have been building all sorts of bridges and testing them to see how strong they are. We have built long bridges, tall bridges, narrow bridges and even bridges that open!
