Autumn

Ruby Class have had a brilliant week! In English, we have continued our writing based on Arthur and the Golden Rope. The children have been working hard to improve their simple sentences by adding adjectives, using fronted adverbials and including conjunctions to add more detail. They have thought carefully about their vocabulary choices and have been working hard to make their writing more interesting and descriptive. In Maths, we have continued our learning about place value. We have been finding 1, 10, 100 and 1,000 less than numbers up to 10,000, as well as placing numbers up to 10,000 accurately on a number line. In Science, we have continued our learning about the digestive system and have planned an exciting experiment ready for next week. Well done, Ruby Class, for a brilliant week! You have worked so hard, shown great focus and demonstrated fantastic learning across all of our subjects. Keep it up!

September 2026

Year 4 have had a fantastic week! In English, we have been exploring Arthur and the Golden Rope, focusing on the speech between Arthur and Thor. The children have enjoyed identifying the features of dialogue and have had a go at writing their own conversations. In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of place value. The children have been practising counting in thousands and partitioning numbers up to 10,000. In History, we have continued our learning about Ancient Egypt, building on our knowledge and understanding of this fascinating civilisation.

The children have worked incredibly hard across all areas of the curriculum this week, and I have been very impressed with their enthusiasm, effort and determination. Well done, Year 4!
