Reach for the stars!

Home Learning

At Braybrook Primary Academy, we believe that the partnership between home and school is critical in supporting every child to succeed and in best preparing them for the challenges of Secondary School and life beyond.

In the light of our own current whole school priority foci of reading and mathematics, this year, we, like an increasing number of schools both locally and nationally, have chosen to prioritise three key opportunities to enhance home learning across the school.

  • Daily reading at home, 1:1 with an adult, for at least 20 minutes.

  • Rapid recall of multiplication facts, for all times tables, practiced through TT Rockstars.

  • ‘Family Focus and Fun’ activities, identified on your child’s ‘Curriculum Newsletter’ and shared through the PDFs below.

Whilst we understand that this is a change in approach to home learning, your support in these key areas is imperative moving forwards, as we continue to work together in the best interests of your child. In the past, and all too often, our monitoring of both reading diaries and the TT Rockstars multiplication programme has evidenced that these simple opportunities to support and enhance learning are missed at home. However, with your support of these daily expectations, we are confident that your child will be better able to access their learning in school and more able to build quickly on their current attainment levels and achievements in school.

We thank you, in advance, for your support in this.
