Reading

We love to read! Ruby Class are always keen to look at books, listen to stories, read independently, and share books with adults and peers. In order to support and foster this love for reading, parents and carers are welcome to join us for our weekly reading sessions. During these sessions you will have the opportunity to listen to your child read thier Little Wandle reading practise books and also to share a book for pleasure with them. We have a magnificent array of books to choose from! The sessions take place every week on the following days:

Monday 3pm - Little Wandle reading practise book share.

Wednesday 3pm- Little Wandle reading practise book share.

Fridays 8.45am - Reading for pleasure book share.

PE

Ruby Class have a weekly P.E session with a sports coach every Monday afternoon. Please ensure that the children bring their P.E. kits into school. This should include the children's school P.E. t-shirt, black shorts/jogging bottoms and a black hoodie/jumper. We also ask that the children have appropriate footwear for P.E. This can be a pair of trainers or plimsolls. 

Outdoor Adventurers 

Outdoor Adventurer sessions also take place every Wednesday and it is important that the children wear suitable clothing in order to partake in these sessions. The children may bring in their own waterproof coveralls and wellies. These can be stored in school. Once again, please ensure all items of clothing are labelled.

Tapestry and Dojo

Alongside the school website, we also have two additional platforms for communication. Any class specific or school wide events will be communicated via the Class Dojo app. Further to this, we use Tapestry to evidence your child's individual learning journey. Tapestry also allows you to upload and share your child's achievements and home learning. Should you have trouble accessing either of these platform then please do let us know.
